Market entry

Warsaw Consultants advised to COVEC, Shanghai Construction Group (SCG) and China Railway Tunnel Group (CTG) in their process of market entry and public procurement proceedings for infrastructure projects.

China's largest engineering construction company has been participating in tender proceedings for infrastructure projects in Poland since 2009. Paweł Osowski and Tomasz Drzał led the Warsaw Consultants team during an advisory project for Shanghai Construction Group (SCG), COVEC and China Railway Tunnel Group (CTG). China Railway Group Limited, the parent company of CTG, is involved in 60% of aboveground rail investments and subway lines in China and all of Asia. China Railway Group is listed on the stock exchange in Hong Kong. The team was responsible for public affairs and media relations during the tender for construction of the second metro line in Warsaw, together with developing a dedicated website and a document repository. The Chinese corporates were clients of Warsaw Consultants between 2009 and 2013.  The key projects during this time concerned CSR activities of Chinese construction companies, including information regarding safety regulations and procedures at the sites of Chinese contractors, as well as the quality of work and materials of Chinese suppliers. The project was carried out in Polish and English.
